NY Jets vs Houston Texans week 5

Another good show by the Jets defense and keep the Texans deep in their own territory and force them to punt.

And now the Jets get the ball back and are in good field position and have the potential to take the lead back.

Jets field goal vs Texans back in game

Well it’s about time for a drive like this quarterback Matt Schaub. He starts with a pass to Jeremy Kerley and he makes a great catch and a nice first down.

And Tebow gowes in and Sanchez stays on as a receiver and Teabow runs for s first down. this is what I have said all along has to happen.

If the jets would start capitalizing more on swapping between these two, they could confuse defenses throughout the leage in games to come.

And they get into field goal territory and take the points and make it a 6 point game.

NY Jets get ball back end 3rd

With the last field goal the score stands at 23 to 14 and Houston expands their lead.

And for the Jets all you can say is that they just couldn’t manage to string enough good plays together in a drive that allowed them to get into scoring territory. In almostevery drive they have had they made a few good plays but they just couldn’t keep it up.

Since the 3rd quarter just ended the Jets are down by 9 and need now more than ever a good solid drive down the field and convert a score.

NY Jets vs the Houston Texans half time

Here we are at half time and the Jets have been more impressive than I anticipated.

This last drive of the half by the Jets was the best drive of the game. Sanchez has really stepped up and moved the ball well, but when the clock was down to 22 seconds with the ball on about the 18 he throws an interception which was likely the one play that truly hurt them badly as the half was ending. This was a missed opportunity to tie the game back up.

Yes the Texans are ahead with a score of 17 to 7, but I would think one of the things they will talk about in the locker room is how they too are surprised with the Jets performance defensively and how they need to combat it more if they want to keep the lead.

Offensively I think the Texans just need to do more of what they have been.

I think the Jets need to continue to give the opposing offense more pressure, or even the appearance of more pressure like they had in some plays in the previous half. A number of times they had the Texan offense believing they were going to blitz and manage to drop in to decent zone coverage and were there to make plays.

This was not effective all the time, but it did work well on some plays and when it worked it worked well.

Offensively I think they look better tonight then in previous games so it may be they are finally getting their rhythm. That and play Tebow more to allow him to get a rhythm with the receivers.

End 1st quarter punt fake

Well since Tebow is the punt protector, he just took the snap and ran it for 5 yards and got the first down.

Making these kinds of plays, along with a defense that has been making some big plays this year would all be more effective with more effective passing.

After such a good show with the fake, it was 3 and out so the Texans will get the ball back.

Texans vs Jets 1st quarter

We just hit the end of the first quarter and the score stands at 7 to 7.

Currently the Jets have the ball and it is the fourth down and inches, not sure what they are gonna call but I would like to see them go for it although they honestly should probably kick it away since they can not afford to turn the ball over on this spot of the field.

Is it time for a fake?

Houston Texans tie the game with NY Jets week 5

A good defensive play by Antonio Cromartie and the Jets intercept a pass and get their first forced turnover of the game. More plays like that and they could give their offense more potential plays.

This gives them gfood field position. Sanchev then throws a good pass and they get a nice mid field first down.

Seeing more play like this, the Jets third possession is what needs to happen for them. This drive ends with a touchdown by Jeff Cumberland, which was a well thrown ball.

We are back to a tied game 7 to 7.

Jets vs Redskins week 5

The second drive of the Jets was started by Tim Tebow. The first play was a well thrown ball that was tipped and was incomplete.

Under heavy pressure the third down conversion was not effective so 3 and out and they are forced to punt.

Hopefully we will see more of Tebow, but they need to allow him to orchestrate the entire drive not stick him ion for a random play here and there.

That could hoonestly be effective if they did that consistiently, sending either one of them in with certain plays on a regular basis and really keeping the defense guessing which one they would be defending.

Texan vs Falcons week 5

Mark Sanchez, the quarterback for the Jets is just gonna have to improve and stop makling mistakes like the first drive. Even though things were getting tight for them and they weren’t making the yardage they wanted in the first 2 plays, he took too much time on getting the third play called and is likely what caused them to get a false start as the play clock ticked down to 0 on the third down.

They did not convert on the third and long and were forced to punt. These kinds of mistakes need to be cleared up if the Jets are going to improve their game.

Houston first to score against Jets week 5

Well the first drive by the Texans was just as impressive and you could expect. Matt Schaub is already showing his stuff with play action as well as using a quick count.

After the first handful of plays they were already crossing mid field in 6 plays or so. Before the Jets barely even knew it they had the Texans converting not only on first downs but suddenly a pass to Owen Daniels and the Texans got their first touchdown.

Less than 5 minutes into the game and Houston is up 7 to 0.
