End 3rd quarter Redskins leads the Falcons

With Griffin, quarterback for the Redskins, pulled from the game, Kirk Cousins is put in for his first time in a regular season game. He didn’t convert on his few snaps but there is still a quarter left.

It’s Atlanta’s ball as the 3rd quarter ends. Redskins are up 10 to 7.

Atlanta Falcons vs Washington Redskins half time

Atlanta Falcons with their first score of the game with the Washington Redskins. The best play of the drive ended with a pass caught by Tony Gonzalez just short of the end zone. In fact they spot the ball inside the one yard line. 2 plays later and the Falcons push their way in for the score.

I think they really needed to score at this point in the game. It’s not that I think their confidence has been shattered, but I think this score will help with that a bit.

This allows them to go to the locker room at the half and realize they have to really focus on their game and not have the extra pressure of being shut out in the half.

They go to the locker room with a tied score 7 each.

Redskins miss the field goal

Billy Cundiff missed a short field goal and miss their opportunity to make their lead a two score lead again Atlanta.

It is now the 2 minute warning so Atlanta must score now so they are not down at the half.

Matt Ryan drops the ball

Something rarely seen, Matt Ryan drops the ball and the Redskins recover.

2 plays later andf the Redskins are deep in Atlanta territory and threatening to score again.

I have been very impressed by the defense of Washington and how they have been able to capitalize and make big plays. This is the kind of play they needed.

Redskins first to score against Falcons week 5

Mark Ryan under pressure tries to dump off the ball but Ryan Kerrigan intercepts the ball and runs it in for a touchdown.

This gives the Redskins the first points in the half. Redskins 7 Falcons 0.

Redskins vs Falcons week 5

At tthe end of the first quarter we have a tied game with no score.

Both teams have had a pretty good showing by their respective defenses. I question if they can keep it up. A number of close up shots on the field has shown a number of pllayers looking a bit winded.

Can Washington be the first to score on this first drive of the quarter? Washing has the ball at mid field.

Cleveland Browns vs NY Giants week 5

Sheesh, talk about setting up a blowout. I just saw an update for the Cleveland game. Cleveland Browns have just made their second touchdown against the Giants. That score stands at 14 to 0.

Falcons vs Redskins week 5

In an attempt to increase their first possession numbers to 4 out of 5, the Falcons end the drive with a punt and are unable to convert on the drive.

It is now the Redskins ball with decent field position.

Atlanta Falcons vs Washington Redskins week 5

Ok we are getting ready for the Atlanta game with Washington Redskins.

Last week in this article I picked Atlanta to win by 7. So in a few hours we will know how well I did on that pick.

The weather man says there may be rain coming which can affect the game.

South Carolina vs Georgia final

The final score in this was nearly a total blowout. Finally on their last posssession of the game the Bulldogs were able to conver on their first downs when they needed them. They ended up moving down the field and scored a touchdown.

The Gamecocks defense did a great job of shutting down the BUlldogs offensemost of the entire game.

South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Georgia Bulldogs 35 to 7.
