GA Tech fumble the ball on a 4th and 1 play

GA Tech took a risky play on 4th and one deep in the Clemson territiry and fumble the ball and Clemson has the ball back.

Shaun Green intercepted and GA Tech gets the ball back

Shaun Green the nose tackle just intercepted. GA Tech gets the ball back.

This gives them great field position and a good shot at getting more points on the board.

GA Tech vs Clemson

I picked up the GA Tech vs Clemson game in the third quarter. Currently Clemson is winning 27 to 21.

Wasington just gained 40 yards on a great run. Kevein Wasington just got his 13th touchdown of the year. This ties the game up and with the converted extra point GA Tech has the lead back.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs Auburn Tigers

Although I have not been watching the Arkansas game I do have a half time update.

The Razorbacks of Arkansas have the lead at 10 to 0 over the Auburn Tigers.

Watching a few of the replays of the game isin’t enough to make a complete decision on who I would pick, but from what I have seen to me it looks like the Razorbacks will likely dominate the second half of the game as well.

Penn State Nittany Lions vs Northwestern Wildcats

Before today’s game Northwestern was ranked 88th in passing yards but had a rank of 9th in rushing yards so they are a pretty well rounded team.

Penn State was 53rd in passing and 88th in rushing yards.

Although Northwestern did not start out the game playing well today, they have been improving as the time ticked down.

A last minute drive by the Wildcats has them going in to the locker room at half time with a lead. Half time score is Northwestern 14 to Penn State’s 10.

DVR takes longer to reboot during game

Something else happened last night during a game that had be swearing at Brighthouse. I am not sure if I can blame them or not, but it certainly was pretty poor timing for it to happen. My DVR, which is my cable box that provides me with the digital cable television signal in the house decided to reboot in the middle of the game.

If I thought that this was a Brigthouse pushed update that forced the reboot I would be on the phone right now jumping up and down bitching at them, but I actually suspect that my dvr may or may not be starting to experience some intermittent issues since I had to pull the power and plug it back in to manually reboot it, so I will need to keep an eye on it in case I have to swap it out.

I would consider doing it today but since it is football season the recorded shows on the dvr are starting to pile up since I have been spending more time watching the games and before and after game shows.

Did you know that when the cable box does decide to reboot that it takes LONGER to reboot if it is during a football game?

I had mentioned this to my friend Chips over at Poker Player US and his rather humorous but sadly true response was, “That is another ‘strange but true’ phenomenon. And when it does finally come back on, it is a commercial break.”

You’re right Chips, and when you return to the game you hear things like, “That truly is likely going to be the play that changed the outcome of the game, but since we have showed it 4 times already we will not show it again”…..

Well luckily this time, although I had missed a few plays none of the ones I missed were game changers but I was still aggravated by it.

Note to self, on the non-football days watch some of the shows on the dvr so you can swap it out. Hmmmm are their days we don’t think about football?

Reflecting on St. Louis Rams win over Arizona Cardinals

In reflection on last night’s game, I have to once again congratulate the Rams defense on how well they applied pressure to the quarterback.

If they can continue to break down the offensive lines like this in future games I think we could easily be impressively surprised in a number of future games as the season progresses.

Originally I was picking Green Bay over the Rams in 2 weeks on the 21st of October back in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. But after last nights game I want to study this a bit more. I am not saying I changed my mind just yet about Green Bay being able to win over the Rams, but that game last night shows that the Rams defense has the talent to make some great plays.

And just because Kevin Kolb got the tar beat out of him last night says he is finished. Actually I think it is just the opposite. This guy took such a pounding and just kept on going. Now I am guessing that today some of the muscles he never even knew existed in the human body are sore today but he should be proud.

He can be proud of the performance that he made last night and it really shows how much heart and tenacity he has. Yea plenty of quarterbacks over the years have shown that they could take that kind of pounding from defenses and still get back up and go into the next play like he did.

Ahh yes but, when you think about those quarterbacks names you have envisioned, you consider those names to be some of the better backs over the years don’t you? I think Kevin Kolb has the ability to be listed among those quarterbacks in the future.

He does need to work on his ability to read the blitz a little better so he can anticipate the direction and find the openings in the pocket to escape. And I think as he gets more play and if he can improve on his accuracy when he is forced to throw under this kind of pressure on the move then he will show he deserves to be listed among them.

Rams win over Cardinals week 5

An exciting game and impressive showing by the St. Louis Rams winning over the Arizona Cardinals with the final score 17 to 3.

The Rams defense will be fun to watch in future games this season as they were much more effective causing pressure on the quarterback. I knew they were caplable, but they were more effective at it that I anticipated.
